Jasmine Oud / Botanical Minimalism
An oil-based, 100% natural perfume of graceful restraint, instinctive depth, and memories of florals as perfume when I was a boy.

1 gram / 2.5 grams

This is not an abundance of Jasmines or Oud for the sake of excess! This is botanical minimalism: deliberate, rare, and potent. Use at your own risk.

Jasmines have rich literary allusions, often linked to themes of love, fragrance production, and cultural identity. In the world of perfumery, there is an old adage that says, "It's not a perfume without Jasmine."

These words ring true to me.

I admire Arabic perfumery in part because of its use of rich florals in men's compositions. Though thousands of years old, as the Prophet Muhammad wore rose, musk, and oud, the use of florals was new to me at the beginning of my perfume career, where they taught me that all men's perfumes were woods and herbs. Not true. I respected Arabic perfumery art because I, too, love florals. I have a passion for making them, wearing them, and showing them off to my colleagues and friends.

When I was young, my older sister used to drag me to a new-age herb and book store. She was into Wicca and paganism, and I, at 13 years old, was drawn to the collection of essential oils and the beauty of the crystals.

Once, I bought a small, pyramid-shaped mini bottle of Ylang Ylang oil. I used to swipe it on the back of my hands (I still apply ouds and scents on the back of my hands, never my wrists!), and wear it as a perfume. I wore it with respect for the floral's nature. And when I composed Jasmine Oud/Boctanical Minimalism, it was that memory of wearing florals as a young adolescent that I celebrated.

Now, this composition does NOT contain any Ylang Ylang: it has two types of jasmines and a small dose of tuberose to increase the narcotic senses. It contains copious amounts of Jasminum Grandiflorum from Egypt, and the masculine jasmine, Jasminum Sambac from India. I source my materials from the most established, well-respected vendors. You can be assured of their quality.

At its heart, these two Jasmines bloom in tandem, one whispering a narcotic, creamy dusk, the other an exhaling sunlit wildness. The touch of Tuberose absolute unfurles beside the jasmines in slow motion: narcotic, ghost-white, dangerously alive.

Under the radar, Rose Otto pierces the floral haze like the memory of touch—velvety, assertive, unafraid.

Then comes the descent: Oud Assafi, a regal extract of Aquilaria agallocha, meets Agarwood Cranssa CO₂ extract mixed with Mysore sandalwood, binding smoke from the Oud Assafi, resin, and sacred Sandalwood into something elemental.

Beneath this, the animal breath of the perfume stirs: White and Gold Ambergris tincture, whispering oceanic ghost-notes, a small dose of an old, very old Deer Musk, with its feral clarity, and yet ANOTHER dose of another kind of Deer Musk, a special 4% tinctured musk PRIVATE RESERVE sourced directly from the former owner of Eden Botanicals, intimate and unapologetically carnal.

This is the scent of wild elegance: minimalist in form, maximal in effect. Crafted from their own oils, it has remarkable sillage: wild florals, Holy Oud and Sandalwoods, and sacred Musks.

Since it's so heavy on the base notes, it lasts for hours on the skin after its initial blast of Jasmine top and heart notes. You won't regret this one. That's my promise to you as an artist. I captured the essence of my loyalty to florals. Find your commitment today.
