Sometimes I am just devoted to the materials and how they interact with one another and/or alone—it’s not always about memories.

I present a timeless mukhallat built on rare, vintage materials: loaded with 60+-year-old Tonkin and Siberian musks (saturated with pheromones), superior Gold and White Ambergris, and deep, earthy, balsamic, and woody Laos Oud (Aquilaria malaccensis), anchored by the noble Indian Sandalwood (Santalum album).

It opens with a barely there bergamot lift, paired with the clean, bright spice of pink peppercorns. This clarity quickly softens into a lush, silky heart where Geranium Bourbon adds a crisp edge. The materials weave a tapestry of deep petals enriched by the narcotic sweetness of supporting accents.

The touch of Orris butter introduces a creamy softness, while the Gold and White Ambergris lends salty, musty, glowing radiance. Beneath, the base unfolds with a rich and powerful accord: the golden warmth of Amber, the resinous embraces of Benzoin and Labdanum, the sacred depth of velvety Myrrh CO2, and the enigmatic soul of the Lao Oud (steam distilled).

Anchoring the materials is the smooth, plush heartwood of Indian Sandalwood unfurling with quiet nobility. Finally, a considerable dose of those traditional private reserve musks sing in the background, combining all the materials into a sum greater than its parts and lending the whole fragrance a living, breathing, significant sense of excitement.

The result? A mukhallat that feels timeless--opulent yet approachable, luminous, and still mysterious. It is meditative. The woody/earthy Lao Oud, musks, and ambergris finish with a caress that lingers for hours.

This work has been maturing for half a year and uses many vintage materials (60-, 17-, and 10-years old). It is now ready for release.
